Step by Step to Permanent Weight loss. By Phil Satterfield Summer is coming and many people are starting to try to lose weight, fast. As a result of this, people will try quick weight loss methods. Unfortunately, most people will be disappointed by the results of their quick weight loss diets. These quick diets usually help you lose a few pounds, but then the weight is quickly gained back in most cases. Weight problems are a result of underlying factors. When we become over weight it is a result of, in many cases years of bad food choices, and activity choices. Take some time and think about your eating habits. Think and write down what you eat and how much you eat. Be honest no one will see this but you. What do you see? If you see that you eat a lot of starches, especially refined sugars and not as much whole grains, and junk food out of vending machines, maybe you eat right before you go to bed. All these and many other things can lead us to having weight problems. If we try a quick fix diet, we will lose weight. How ever we did not solve the cause of our weight problem, which is some where in our eating habits. So, once the quick diet is over we go right back to our poor eating habits, and gain all the weight back. The best way to begin a weight loss program is to simply start changing one or two bad habits. Focus on them for a week or two then, pick other habits and do the same. Over the course of a 2 or 3 months, we can totally change our eating habits, lose weight at steady pace, still eat foods we like and keep the weight off for good. Start by switching to lower fat varieties of milk and leaner cuts of meat or just simply reduce the amount of the foods we eat. One hamburger instead of two is great place to start.
